Rail District is a master-planned community of over 600 homes plus retail & office space coming to downtown historic Abbotsford. The site is located on the old Clayburn brick site that began manufacturing in 1905. It borders the railway on one side of the development, along with the “Rail Trail” – a trail system for bikes, walkers and joggers. The entrance to the site feeds right into the bustling, revitalized historic downtown. Homeowners will be able to walk to local restaurants, cafes, groceries or a wide array of other retail/shopping options. This abundance of amenities is exactly what today’s home buyer is looking for. Project Challenges
Anytime you introduce a new concept to the market you must trust your vision and understanding of your target audience. Traditionally, those looking to move to Abbotsford were likely seeking larger properties, more elbow room, a quieter setting, or a combination of these characteristics. Although we believe this trend is changing, the story is yet to be told in this area. We will be figuratively and literally breaking new ground in downtown Abbotsford. We are excited and honoured to be championing this alongside the vision of Infinity Properties.
The Outcome
The showhomes and presentation centre will be coming in late 2022, however, a select number of townhomes in our Abby Townhome Series is being released early this spring. There are already a significant amount of registrants for the project and we can’t wait to get started. Future releases will include an extensive number of townhome phases, condos, and a large amenity building with an outdoor swimming pool that all Rail District homeowners will have access to.
